Tromso, Midnight Sun & Fjords - 7 nights

Enjoy amazing Arctic highlights & the unique, Norwegian Fjords!
You will start with a night in Oslo, then on to the beautifully located Arctic capital Tromso for 2 nights, including an amazing Arctic gourmet dinner and activities at your choice. Then on to the picturesque coastal city of Bergen, where you will spend 2 nights, followed by a beautiful Fjord cruise to the scenic Fjord village of Balestrand for an overnight stay. The next morning starts with a fjord cruise to the inner branch of the Sognefjord, then on to the famous Flam Railway & the spectacular Bergen line to Oslo.

    Day 1 - Overnight in Oslo

    Individual arrival to Oslo, the city of the Nobel Peace Prize. Check in at a centrally located hotel. Optional: overnight at an airport hotel, Oslo/Gardermoen airport.

    Day 2 - Flight Oslo-Tromso

    Flight to the Arctic town of Tromso, beautifully located surrounded by islands & mountain peaks. Tromso is the world's northernmost university town. Individual arrival to a centrally located hotel. You can take the Airport bus directly to the hotel.

    Arctic Gourmet Dinner

    We have included dinner at Emma's famous, tiny gourmet restaurant in the centre of Tromso, where you will enjoy her 5 courses gourmet dinner based on excellent local produce.

    Day 3 - Tromso

    Full day to explore the town on your own; take the cable car to Mount Storsteinen and admire the view of the city and its surroundings, visit the Arctic Cathedral, the Polaria activity centre and aquarium, the Polar museum.

     

    Optional: add a Midnight sun trip by Rib boat or a Midnight sun hike & Sami culture tour

    Day 4 - Flight Tromso-Bergen

    Flight to Bergen via Oslo. You can take the Airport bus to the centre of Bergen, alternatively a 25 mins taxi drive.

     

    Individual arrival at a centrally located hotel. Enjoy the evening at leisure. Spend 2 nights in Bergen

    Day 5 - Bergen

    Enjoy a full day to explore the sights of Bergen, the picturesque, hanseatic town, surrounded by 7 mountains, fjords & islands. See the old Bryggen wharf (UNESCO World Heritage site), the Fish market, the Funicular to Mount Floyen & the Aquarium. You can also take the hop-on hop-off city sightseeing bus, and a trip by cable car to the top of Mount Ulriken, offering a breathtaking view of the surrounding fjords & islands

    Make sure to visit the authentic, picturesque areas with tiny, wooden houses & narrow streets at the Nordnes peninsula & the hillside around the Funicular station

    Optional: add a 3 hour fjord cruise from Bergen to Mostraumen or dinner at Cornelius seafood restaurant

    Day 6 - Bergen-Balestrand

    Fjord cruise: Enjoy the morning express steamer cruise along the scenic coast line to the Sognefjord and the beautiful fjord village of Balestrand, passing through narrow straits, islands, skerries and tiny fjord villages. Arrival to Balestrand at noon.

    Spend 1 night at the beautifully located historic Kvikne's hotel, room with fjord view in the modern wing. Enjoy their excellent buffet dinner in the evening (included).

    Day 7 - Balestrand-Oslo

    Enjoy the express steamer fjord cruise to the inner parts of the Sognefjord and the Aurlandsfjord branch, to the fjord village of Flam.

     

    Change to the famous Flam Railway, taking you through the scenic Flam valley with rivers and waterfalls, to the mountain station of Myrdal

    Change to the main Bergen line,  taking you across the scenic Hardangervidda mountain plateau and National Park to Oslo, with late evening arrival.
